On behalf of our client, a luxury Hotel Group in Limassol, Cyprus, we are currently looking for a Hotel Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership and strategic direction to the engineering departments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop strategy aligned with the group’s culture, vision, and mission. Develop and implement a cohesive engineering strategy aligned with the group’s overall objectives. Provide guidance and direction to hotel chief engineers in the execution of their roles.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of engineering departments across the hotel group. Ensure compliance with company standards, local regulations, and industry best practices.
- Develop and manage the engineering budgets for each property in the portfolio. Identify cost-saving opportunities and strategies to optimize operational efficiency.
- Oversee major renovation projects, capital improvements, and new construction initiatives. Collaborate with external contractors, architects, government authorities and local vendors to ensure successful project execution.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in engineering and facilities management. Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of hotel operations.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency response procedures across all properties. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Drive initiatives to improve energy efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and achieve sustainability goals. Recommend and implement technology upgrades to enhance operational sustainability.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with executive chairman, property general managers, and other department heads. Work closely with corporate teams to align engineering efforts with broader organizational goals.
Candidate’s profile:
- Master’s degree in engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Member of Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber
- Professional certifications in engineering or facilities management
- 10+ years of experience in hotel engineering or a similar role, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
